As a focused researcher with a results-oriented attitude, I have nearly three years of professional research experience. My research experience in Aquatic Ecosystem Conservation has equipped me with the ability to conduct questionnaire surveys, stakeholder interviews, biodiversity assessments, and data collection, management and analysis. I am proficient in all Microsoft Office products, RStudio, ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine, and Past for assisting research by organizing and maintaining experimental data.I earned a Master of Science in Forestry from Forest Research Institute, Deemed To Be University, Dehradun. Prior to that, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Botany, Geology and Zoology at the University of Lucknow and attended school at La Martiniere College, Lucknow. My educational background and professional experience have helped me secure several awards, fellowships, and grants, including the IDEA WILD Equipment Grant in 2022.I worked as a Project Fellow at the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun, on the project Planning & Management for Aquatic Species Conservation & Maintenance of Ecosystem Services in the Ganga River Basin for a clean Ganga. In this role, I have successfully conducted biodiversity assessments of the Ganga River and its tributaries, using the Vessel-Based Visual Encounter Survey method to assess biodiversity and anthropogenic influences on the river system. I have also conducted workshops for various stakeholders, including state and central forest departments, village statutory bodies, and local fishermen communities, to raise public awareness about the project objectives.I have also worked as a Project Assistant on the same project, where I was responsible for training stakeholders and establishing alternate livelihood centers in villages along the Ganga River's banks to reduce the reliance on the river and its resources.I have also worked as a Research Intern on the NMCG-WII project entitled “Biodiversity Conservation and Ganga Rejuvenation,” where I was responsible for statistical surveys, literature review, data compilation, and map designing, and I have also worked in the same capacity on the project “Species Composition and Diversity of Herbaceous Plants in Tungnath, Western Himalayas,” where I conducted quadrate sampling, data compilation, and analysis.
