I got a great chance to deliver new message delivery system which is a standalone cloud-ready application written in core Java 7 with multithreading (more than 70 classes involving such frameworks as Googles's Guice AOP framework, SLF4J/Logback, Google's Gson, AWS-SDK, etc.) with Ruby on Rails clients and Chef deployment scripts for Amazon EC2. I own this system on all stages starting from technical design (based on ideas from our CTO), implementation, test coverage, deployments scripts, logging, debugging, monitoring. The system is backed by on DynamoDB - Amazon's most advanced could-based NoSQL database service.Along the line with working with the solution I had a chance to patch multiple gems/libraries in order to make solution actually work with the features it required. As an example I did that to aws-sdk gem to enable a better support for range keys, dates, etc, to paperclip to have better backward-compatibility support after migrating to aws-sdk for S3. I had a great opportunity to converted popular plugin app_config to gem and fixed it's issues which I've found (all my changes were accepted by the author).The system replaced older much less stable system and is used in production at the moment.Second system which I delivered is web-analytics framework and partial coverage which uses different analytics tracking systems at the same time, such as Google Analytics, Kissmetrics, Mixpanel.Also, I take part in production support for all of our hosted services in AWS.
