Where we couldn't stand for 2 minutes without wearing masks they have been living their entire lives under that flyover. Team Navaagat, under its project Swachhta, undertook the cleaning and painting of Jasola Slum in collaboration with the NGO Bucket List.We followed a structural process of cleaning, arranging, and decorating the total environment of the slum. We partnered with several art societies of some colleges of the University of Delhi to cut costs and give the whole thing a young and firey approach. It revolved around the idea that how the decision of banning vehicles older than 10 and 15 years for diesel and petrol respectively, by the NGT (Nationa Green Tribunal) of India, would affect the normal consumer in their day to day lives. We surveyed around 900 subjects across the nation, asking about their opinion and perspective towards the decision and majorly towards the whole process of how the decommissioning is done. It was shocking to know the normal Auto-Rickshaw and Taxi driver's take on the whole subject. We submitted the whole research after analyzing the data through SPSS and gave our recommendations to the government's fucntioning body, NGT. Our paper received wide acknowledgment and was finally published on the official gazette of the University of Delhi.I also presented the paper in the annual convention of the International Association of Research and development organization (IARDO) and won the best presentation award amongst Ph.D. professors and students!
