The work include adding 1250 KVA generator at BART OCC to provide emergency power to all existing electrical essential and critical load at BART OCC. the scope includes work related to Electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, architectural, and communications disciplines. The work under Vineet include PS&E, procurement, and construction.BART Tunnel Lighting Program for M-line, TBT, Berkeley, and Wanlut Creek Tunnels. Vineet is managing this systemwide program.

Vineet led the transit systems practice and is involved in several pursuits. Vineet was involved in managing several transit projects for SFMTA and BART. The work included preparing conceptual engineering report, technical provisions, and rough order of magnitude cost estimate to help SFMTA hire train control system vendor. The project required signaling changes to enable use of the new crossovers, include the configuration, installation, testing, and commissioning of a new axle counter product to replace the current generation throughout the entire signaled area of the system

The scope of work include PS&E for traction power, OCS, train signaling, communications, fare collection, system integration, and system safety. The construction cost for the project is $150 million and is 4.1 miles with 5 new traction power substations, 15 new stations, train to wayside signaling, and new central control.SFMTA On-Call Engineering, SFMTA. Vineet was Systems Manager for providing as needed support for traction power, communications, radio system, train control, and overhead catenary system, safety and security, and systems integration. Caltrain South Station and Fairfield Projects. Was Communications Lead for this Project. Includes design for PA/VMS, CCTV, Telephones, fiber optic backbone, and SCADA. Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Project, Design Build Project,LACMTA, Los Angeles. As Deputy Systems Design Manager, Vineet was responsible for preparing plans for traction power, communications, train control, and overhead catenary system during design confirmation phase. Vineet also chaired System Integration/Fire Life Safety/Systems Assurance Task Force meetings.BART to Warm Springs (WSX Project), BART, Oakland, CA – As a senior technical advisor, Vineet developed Test Plan that contains factory, field, and system integration testing requirements. Provided Safety and Security and Communications for this project.Full Implementation of the PTC System for NCTD Project. Planned as an I-ETMS compatible overlay upon the existing FRA approved CTC system. The segment is 60.3 miles long with different passenger and freight rails operating on them. NCTD has a wayside signal system of 27 control points with intermediate signals spaced approximately two to three miles apart. Was Involved in Several Transit Pursuits.

Walnut Creek / San Francisco

Communications Lead for Redlands Passenger Rail Project and Downtown San Bernadino Passenger Rail Project for SANBAG. Communications subsystems include Fiber Optic Backbone, Fare Collection System, Public Address System, and Display System.Designed Radio System for a 150km Frieght Rail System for MPX Extension in Columbia.Supported OCS and Traction Power Systems (25 KV, AC) Design effort for Eagle P3 Project in Denver. Provided Quality Control for Grounding and Bonding and Power Taps for Traction Electrification System for Eagle P3 Project in Denver. Reviewed the 100% design for system-wide grounding and bonding, and system-wide power taps for communications instrumentation house, signal bungalow, and interlocking lighting for this project. Provided Signaling support for LA Downtown Street Car Project.Involved in Pursuit of Several Transit Projects.

Overseen the proof of concept of the Flywheel as the Wayside Energy Storage system that can supply 6MW unit of power for LACMTA. Was Communications Lead for Denver Eagle PPP Project.Was Responsible for the design and cost estimates for CCTV and Fiber Optic backbone network systems for SVRT Project. Spearheaded the study to incorporate the effects on the BART Core System due to the addition of San Jose Extn. The systems being study are Traction Power System including AC and DC subsystems, Communications, Train Control System including communication based train control (CBTC), Yard and Shops, and Ventilation. Performed Project Management Oversight for several major projects at the MBTA on behalf of the Federal Transit Authority (FTA). The projects monitored by me ranged from $60 million to $300 million. Performed FTA mandated Risk Analysis and Transit Capacity for the MBTA (Silverline Phase III) and LAMCTA (Westside Subway Extension and Regional Connector). Conducted 30-Year Rehabilitation and Upgrade Program Study for BART. The study was performed on Traction Power, Train Control, and Communications Systems.Prepared the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) cost estimate for the proposed eBART DBOM (Design, Build, Operate, Maintain) contract. Served as a System Integrator in the preliminary system design on the MUNI Third Street Light Rail Project for Phase II. Conducted a study on the existing PA system for Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). I was also involved with the Translink Project, now known as Clipper. Performed risk analysis for the operations and maintenance (O&M) Cost of the AirTrain to San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

At the University of California Medical Center, I developed an Image Processing Toolbox named “Nutmeg” for Magneto encephalography (MEG) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Application. I also developed a Real Time Speech Processing Program for studying patients with Parkinson’s disease. The Program was developed using C, ALSA, Intel’s speech processing routines, and Matlab under Linux Platform. responsible for developing various applications for Image and Speech Processing. The applications were developed using simulations, quantitative algorithms and software programming such as C and Matlab.The work also included testing of the algorithm using hardware software interface.

India

As one of the founder members of Elektron Energy Equipments Pvt. Ltd., I was a member of a team that indigenously developed both single- and three-phase electronic energy meters based on state-of-art “ASIC based technology”. The company was involved in manufacturing and providing installation support of Electronic Energy Meters. I was instrumental in bringing awareness about the advantages of electronic energy meters over electro-mechanical energy meters among several State Electricity Boards in India. Today virtually all states in India are using these electronic energy meters. I was also given a responsibility of Product Integration Manager later in the production stage.
