Cane Development Officer
Current• I am working with Mauritian Agriculture Scientists of Mauritian Sugar Industry Research Institute (MSIRI) including Soil Scientists, Agronomists, Entomologists, Plant Pathologists and Agriculture Engineers.• Managing 500 acre of sugarcane farms in the area of Fatima Sugar Mills, using modern and latest technologies to get high sucrose contents and yield.• To convince and facilitate the farmers to grow sugarcane with modern technologies and assurance of high output with relatively low input cost.• Regular visits to the farmer’s field to find out any crop related problem and provide valuable suggestion to cope the issues.• Monitoring all the cultural operations and also proper way of siphon/spile irrigation.• Survey and procurement of the sugarcane crop during crushing season.
