Completing six deployments with minimal operational defects, to retain the ships operational availability and capability throughout.Successfully maintaining operational availability of the vessel through effective management of the engineering departments.Implementing and supporting effective working practices and systems as required to continuously improve product delivery. Dealing efficiently and on own initiative with a high-volume workload.

Managing the first Type 45 Sonar Array removal and replacements within BAE/SFM. Provided a first-rate service to all classes of ship, to deliver technical expertise for all engineers. Gaining commercial experience working at the small boat centre of excellence for BAE.Acting as a part of first RN/Babcock engineering team to undertake removal and replacement work of the Rolls-Royce WR21 gas turbines.

Expertly writing appraisal reports for junior team members to identify those suitable for promotion and success. Acting as technical expert for Ships SM1C Spey gas turbine engines (ships sprint capability), main gearboxes and shaft line, all associated support systems such as lub-oil and fuel systems. Managing the propulsion plant in a highly stressful environment and directed action crews to carry out damage repair in accordance with the command aim. Trained and guided junior engineers to increase engineering training services.Completing a high-speed gearbox change between 2 SM1C Spey gas turbines while at sea without the presence of a Rolls Royce engineer.

Conducting traditional Artificer Apprenticeship in conjunction with Portsmouth University. This included technical theory in all aspects of engineering – mechanical, electrical and mathematical. Core academic refresher training was also provided alongside formal Leadership and Management training.
