One of the most fulfilling projects so far was leading the creation of a computer model and installation of training simulator software on a new internal network. To complete the project, it required the collaboration of a diverse cross-functional team that included several outside vendors and several internal departments: IT Service, Network IT, Cyber Security, Gas Control, and SCADA.My day-to-day responsibilities for the simulator include maintaining communication and function of three PCs, one domain controller, and two servers on the network. I also learned (and continue to learn) the vendor's proprietary software and computer language to update the model and perform training sessions for new and experienced controllers.

As an area sales representative for Westside Direct I am responsible for new customer generation and retention. During the first week in the field I achieved $600 in net sales by implementing sales pitch and four impulse factors: Jones Effect, Fear of Loss, Sense of Urgency, and Indifference. Several weeks late I earned a promotion by closing on 12 applications for approximately $1700.00 within a five-day work period, including 6 applications for approximately $838.00 on the last day.

Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute

Working as a Research Associate in a product development capacity with the GT Manufacturing Institute is my most recent job position. It has provided me with some great experience. Here are some tasks I completed and the results:-Led conceptualization and prototyping of two innovative 5th gen. designs for magnetically assisted intubation device (M.AI.D.) project.-Led design process for “injection molded” M.A.I.D. “injection molded” prototype that reduced assembly time by an estimated 80%, the number of parts from seven to four, and assembly steps from twelve to five, when compared to the 4th generation.-Created custom Pull Test parameters and test fixture to verify strength of wire-to-polymer connection on new design device. The test data helped establish initial quality parameters to avoid catastrophic failure.-Developed alternate device design after encountering possible barriers to market entry of “injection molded” design.-Modified and modeled new 3D parts in SolidWorks 2013 for rapid prototyping through 3D printing and silicone, RTV insert molding.

My internship with The Boeing Company was an awesome experience. The projected on which I work was condensed into a 5-week span. The short time frame increased the challenge of the project, but also made it more satisfying. Below are a few highlights of that summer:- I completed a lean engineering project to help a manufacturing engineering resolve a customer concern from All Nippon Airways: Determine the most efficient point in the build process to implement a weight test for outboard ailerons. The results of the test were compared to theoretical data from manufacturer for quality assurance.-Took initiative to conduct research and create a value stream map (VSM) for the outboard aileron of Boeing 767. The VSM provided an overview of the aileron’s life cycle to identify optimal time and location in the factory to implement a weight test for quality assurance.-Analyzed VSM and organized meetings with six distinct internal groups to come up with a solution that led to minimal impact (About 3 hours) to all parties’ schedules and the overall 767 build time.

While I didn't work on a formal project, I gleaned valuable lessons that I employ today:-Improved customer service skills by shadowing field estimators, test engineers, and distribution engineers as they interacted with new and existing customers to resolve set-up and service issues.-Learned importance of cross-functional teamwork and user centered designing through volunteering with Georgia Power line repair crews.
