I… Show more As a Policy Analyst for the Death Investigation Oversight Council (DIOC) I conducted thorough research, evaluate programs and systems in order to make recommendations to the Office of the Chief Coroner (OCC) and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS). I have assisted the organization in evaluating a new initiative at the OFPS, determining the effectiveness of a program and its delivery were Forensic Pathologists conduct the responsibilities of a coroner in criminally suspicious cases. I had partaken in a systemic review of the OCC's complaint system, interviewed key players within the organization, such as the Chief Coroner and Chief Forensic Pathologist in order to provide recommendations for the organization to enhance the complaints system. I also engaged in a public outreach campaign to better inform the public of DIOC's services.By conducting research such as jurisdictional scans, I identified trends, interpreted information and evaluated programs, I assisted DIOC in providing recommendations to the OCC and OFPS on matters such as financial resource management, strategic planning, quality assurance, performance measures, and administered a public complaints process. I was a Champion of Change during a critical venture at the Assessment Review Board. The Board undertook a change management regime and revised its business, policies and procedures which I project managed. I implemented many of the Rules of Practice and Procedures changes through stakeholder consultations, conducting literature reviews and environmental scans of other administrative tribunals to gather and implement new policies and best practices. Consulting with IT, I proposed many of these changes in our case management system then provided quality assurance on the implementation of these changes. I developed manuals, protocols and delivered training sessions to staff in order to deliver these changes to the Board's clientele. These changes increased efficiencies and met performance targets. For example, an innovative filing procedure I developed reduced paper consumption and manual filing procedures by over 200%. Show less

Mediated and resolved various conflicts including insurance, construction, business and commercial disputes, including remuneration up to $25,000. Utilized various mediation strategies such as active listening, paraphrasing, summarizing, reframing, reality questioning and dual perspective taking among others, I facilitated the resolution of claims and counter-claims. I am proud that 80% of all claims were settled within tight timelines prior to Judges hearing the cases.
