I ran for this seat properly fund education across the board, expand Medicaid to working families, and expand Unions in Arizona so that people could have a good-paying job, healthcare, and a pension so that people can afford to live when they retire. For over 40 years, ASA has been the voice of Arizona students by focusing on grassroots organizing, registering students to vote, lobbying for affordable higher education, and training and developing student leaders. In the 1970’s, students in Arizona were working to get more of a voice on campus and more control over their education. To accomplish those objectives, the student body presidents of NAU, ASU, and UA established the Arizona Students’ Association in July of 1974. The Latinx Advisory Council is made up of community members from across Arizona and staff within the Arizona Department of Education. The Advisory Council discusses issues important to the Latinx community and advises the State Superintendent and the Department of Education about the department’s policies. The council also collaborates with experts and various stakeholders to advance the council’s priorities and goals.

In 2018, voters also approved a bond and override which Cesar was excited to take part to help with the construction of the new Tillman Middle School. Cesar has been a leader in the district for equity for students and has worked hard to provide teachers the resources they need to be able to give the students the best quality education students deserve. In 2019, Mr. Aguilar approved millions of dollars to impact the classrooms with new equipment and technology so that students could compete in the modern world. Mr. Aguilar during his time at the Balsz Governing board worked hard on the handling of COVID-19 and making sure families and community still had food and resources to survive while also educating students via technology.
