Based on my combined experience and subject matter expertise in multiple engineering roles, in 2015 I re-joined Melbourne Water to serve as an asset leader, auditor, and data expert. In this capacity, I’ve led teams on initiatives involving asset, electrical, and functional safety engineering that span practices, systems and controls.

Some projects and audits have included investigating failures that happened in the field, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and leading teams on optimisation initiatives to improve safety, minimise human error, and meet industry requirements.

Select initiatives:
» Improving the Data Quality Framework and asset registration process.
» Reducing double handling and eliminating waste in existing assess management processes.
» Technology enabler with development of cuspomise app for field inspections and reports.

Other responsibilities include asset inspection, generating data-driven, risk-based insights/reports, conducting audits, investigating incidents, and developing/amending safety and technical standards.

A key achievement in this role involves represented Melbourne Water on Victorian Electrolysis and Technical Sub Committee. Collectively, we’ve standardising information between power and water authorities while generating healthy cost savings.

When I joined Select Solutions, I quickly applied the strategies and technologies I’d learned in my prior position to my role as asset management and energy engineer. Working as an expert on cathodic protection systems, I led engineering work on transmission and retic gas pipelines.Improving and optimising systems, I designed and installed cathodic protection systems, conducted electrolysis interference area testing with the Victorian Electrolysis Committee (ESV), asset representative for AusNet Gas on VEC Technical Sub Committee and managed pipeline/coating defect surveys.A key endeavour I worked on was to produce various manuals and reports for key clients, including Citi West Water, Yarra Valley Water, Melbourne Water, AusNet Gas, and Jemena Gas.______________Select Solutions was a specialist services company, offering metering, monitoring and asset management solutions to manage and maintain utility assets and operations.

In 2008 I joined Melbourne Water within their graduate program and was assigned to asset management. The scope of my role was to deliver capital projects and proactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and civil assets. In 2011, I was introduced to cathodic protection on pipelines. I completed advanced training with Australasian Corrosion Association and specialised on steel pipelines and structures – CP Monitoring and Advanced CP.Throughout my time in this role, I had several accomplishments and successes including:» Working on the largest water pump in southern hemisphere (Yerring Gorge).» Managing the Electrical Hazard Management Plan across the entire network in 2011.» Leading +$3M treatment plant/pump station upgrade and renewal projects.I also successfully generated $150K in cost savings by eliminating an external application and developing a new tool in-house.

» Assistant Manager / Acting Manager – Service department.» Supervising and training new staffs for services and calibrations (as well as QA).» Research and Development in Customer Supply Monitoring (Smart Electricity Meter).» Assisting with installation and commissioning of Chassis Dynamometer.» Preparation of testing and calibration reports compliance with NATA standard.» Services and Calibration of instrumentation and electronic equipments (brake meter, light meter, speed camera calibrator, microphone acoustics and vibration equipment).» Customer service (technical support over the phone).» Assembly PCBs and hardware design (Bearing Acoustic Monitoring equipment used in railway asset management, Speed Camera Calibrator, Switchboards, etc).
