Agustin Matteri, is an expert in Environmental Law and Policy, with proven capacities to integrate multi stakeholder interests to develop robust climate action strategies and financing portfolios. He counts with relevant experience working for the UNEP Climate Change Unit of the Latin America and the Caribbean Office and the Ministry of Environment of Argentina. He was Programme Officer in charge of coordinating UN-REDD activities in Latin America and the Caribbean for UNEP (2021-22), where he performed as Task Manager for Paraguay´s GCF REDD+ results-based payments (USD 50M).He was UNEP´s Focal Point for the G20 Presidency of Argentina (2018); UNFCCC COP25 Presidency of Chile (2019), and the XXII Forum of Ministers of Environment of LAC for the Climate Change Decision under the Presidency of Barbados (2021). He has authored relevant project documents such as: GEF7 Sustainable Cities Impact Program for Argentina (USD 25M); 8 GEF-CBIT projects (Costa Rica, Chile, Peru, Honduras, Argentina, Panama, Dominican Republic, Antigua and Barbuda); 3 National Strategies on Sustainable Mobility (Colombia, Panamá and Argentina); and Nature-based Solutions strategies for cities and for food producers (City Adapt and MEbA Platforms). He has also coordinated the MOVE Initiative for sustainable mobility deployment in Latin America, and the Center for Climate Ambition & Transparency for NDCs and LTSs design and tracking, providing technical assistance and financial access for the development of MRV systems in the LAC region.
