About Ah Eh Cho

I am a alumni of New York University’s Silver School of Social Work. I am currently a Clinical Psychotherapist at the New York Foundling, one of the biggest foster care agency in NYC. My responsibilities include coordinating mental health services in the Brooklyn and Staten Island regions and performing. Such coordination would include acting as a liaison between the Medical and Mental Health Departments in the regions. As a Clinical Psychotherapist, I will carry a small caseload of foster care youth with whom an evidenced-based treatment model would be implemented. My role functions as part of a treatment team and will require a significant amount of collaboration with Directors, AVPs and VPs within the Mental Health and other internal departments.

Community Psychiatric Supports And Treatment

Responsibilities as a CPST Provider (non counselor) are Rehabilitation Psychoeducation for youth/family/collaterals about treatment, environmental stressors and family/personal/community supports; development/facilitation of Youth Group in various regions; implementation of Trauma Systems Therapy strategies and techniques in individual or group sessions. Other duties include Strengths Based Service Planning by assisting the child/youth and family members or other collaterals with identifying strengths and need, resources, natural supports and developing goals and objectives to utilize personal strengths, resources and natural supports to address functional deficits associated with their mental illness. I also provide Rehabilitative Supports through restoration, rehabilitation, and support to minimize the negative effects of behavioral health symptoms or emotional disturbances that interfere with the child youth's daily functioning.
