Directs all operations of a community design center affiliated with the Yale School of Architecture. Responsible for long range strategic planning and office management, project acquisition and contracts, financial management and forecasting, as well as all aspects of project design, community engagement, project management and delivery. Primary client contact and principal designer for most projects. • Coordinated the urban design consulting team for the $52m Resilient Bridgeport projects funded by US HUD under Rebuild By Design and the National Disaster Resilience Competition, with Waggonner and Ball, WSP, and Arcadis. • Co-author of award-winning grass-roots based strategic plan that lead to the re-establishment of the Thames River Heritage Park in Groton and New London, CT, establishment of a water taxi system, and $1m of direct state funding. • Managed numerous design processes and authored neighborhood and downtown plans for towns across Connecticut, including New London, Milford, New Britain, Ansonia, Winsted, New Haven, Old Lyme, and West Haven. • Planned and coordinated a major international design charrette between Israeli, Palestinian, Jordanian and American architects, engineers, planners and students in Jordan to develop a concept for the Jordan River Peace Park, with NGO EcoPeace Middle East.

Developed architectural designs for new buildings and adaptive reuse of historical buildings through all project phases of work, concentrating on public building types, including performing arts centers, theaters, and schools, with progressively more responsibility in each project. Often worked directly with Founding Partner Hugh Hardy to develop early-stage conceptual designs on new projects. •Developed the conceptual design for the Theatre for a New Audience in Brooklyn, New York. As the primary client contact, established the client’s programmatic requirements and prepared and presented design options developed with Hugh Hardy. Coordinated a large consultant team including engineers and estimators, and established cost controls.•Designer on the award-winning renovation of the Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn, NY, including the adaptive reuse of St. Ann’s Church. Played a key role in the programming, design, and coordination of project, and had sole responsibility for the project’s 16 month construction administration phase.

Developed and maintained CAD and file standards, worked with project teams to identify appropriate technology to streamline design and production work, and provided instruction and support to a staff of 100+ architects. Successfully introduced and deployed early object-based production software in the office.
