Cradles 2 Crayons (C2C) Children’s Consignment Sale was a business that provided an avenue for parents to sell their gently used items, at the price they wanted, without the hassle of selling items out of their home or on social media sites. Cradles 2 Crayons provided:• a centralized location with C2C oversight at the event,• extensive marketing to produce shoppers,• organization of volunteers to work the event, • signage and fixtures,• secure monetary transactions,• management of local vendors and sponsors, and• security.This event provided a way for families to sell quality items they no longer need at the price they wanted. It also offered families a place to purchase gently used items at a fraction of the price. Each event hosted approximately 200 consignors with approximately 35,000 items for the full 3.5 day event. Consignors delivered their items to the event site, C2C sold the items, and consignors chose to pick up or donate their unsold goods at the conclusion of the event. The consignor received a check in the mail a week after the sale. Items sold by C2C included anything related to children (clothing, costumes, shoes, toys, bedding, high chairs, playpens, strollers, bicycles, sports equipment, etc.), maternity clothing, furniture, and housewares. All of this was facilitated by the two owners, Allison Hays and Cristi Cline.
