Eliminated all non-value-added sequences, replaced redundant picture taking of tools, hardware, & chemicals with system integrated checks that served the same purpose while saving operators’ times considering the number of PCA’s processed daily. This resulted in a significant cut of process time by an overall 26%.• Measured, Designed, and created foam tool cutouts for 120 different production tools. Quickly learned SolidWorks and HSM Xpress and how to operate a CNC machine for fabrication purposes. This project led to a more ergonomic tool tray presentation in the production floor allowing assemblers to quickly identify their tools, use them, and immediately flag any missing tool. I also created a training document used by manufacturing engineers in their future designs of cutouts for new tools. The outcome of this project was a significant reduction in tool check-in/checkout times by 06 working hours/day as well as a reduction of build stoppages due to tool shortages or misplacements by 30%.• Designed and implemented a specific process for mech assemblers to report build issues in a live mode triggering immediate resolution. Item owners are manufacturing engineers for work instructions related issues and material handlers for material issues (defective or short). This new process added visibility to work in process and tremendously reduced build stoppages by 55% and eliminated motion waste.

    Led a mechanical production team of 48 assemblers + 1 supervisor. Main responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, training, tooling, certifications, and procurement. Constantly cooperated with the engineering team to develop tool fixtures, foam cutouts, shadowboxes, and continuously improve work instructions:• Played a central role in raising team awareness of company’s goal of zero mechanical defects. Used historical data to do a root-cause analysis, watch for trends, repeaters, opportunities, and make recommendations to the assembler team to pinpoint opportunities in work instructions and prevent the “Next” defect from happening which boosted the team to constantly be alert and not “lower their guard” for every build and every sequence day in and day out. This resulted in a significant reduction of the number of internally reported defects from 44 DPMO to 04 DPMO (90-day window). In fact, we had over 6 months run without any defect.• Put together a training program for newly hired assemblers allowing them to quickly get a grasp of our assembly processes. Focus on our computer integrated system that guides operators step by step from first to last build sequences. This training made it possible for a new assembler to be entrusted with a production build in few days and raised their confidence level in terms of “know How” attitude in addition to preventing defects due to a lack of training or lack of exposure to some complex assemblies where their concentration and involvement is required.• Wrote macros with VBA to keep track of operator’s performance in terms of build pace as the tact time is directly impacted by how fast or slow an operator can be and for tracking assemblers’ certifications on a large variety of assemblies. This made a difference in terms of scheduling operators daily considering customers demand, availability of resources, and scheduling flexibility when changes occur.
