Laid out the foundations for implementing a new Instrument manufacturing model based on the concept of flexibility and modularity. Led a team of SME’s to quickly propose solutions, and new avenues for future state of Instrument manufacturing and operations optimization. Heavily contributed to the warehouse development workstream. Led cross-functional teams to develop, complete qualification, and implement an integrated solution for warehouse management system for an automated materials replenishment (Kanban & Workorder Kitting) from the future DC site to future manufacturing site in collaboration with external partners. Led the Montecito Move workstream per Curie core strategy and plans to transfer warehousing, receiving, receiving inspection, shipping, repair center, and training center capabilities from old site(s) to new one. Orchestrated, coordinated, and executed all relevant move events to new site. Supported all qualification efforts for ISO audit readiness.

Lead the industrial engineering team to quickly identify gaps and opportunities for improvements. Understand, apply and implement concepts and lean tools to the company production system for improvement. Associate with various projects of manufacturing and production to keep track of all productivity and to design various processes. Raise team awareness, assign roles & responsibilities, determine and evaluate execution of all projects.Some other projects :• Streamlined over 35 different methodsheets specific to 2nd OP. MECH department. Eliminated all non-value-added sequences, replaced redundant picture taking of tools, hardware, & chemicals with system integrated checks that served the same purpose while saving operators’ times considering the number of PCA’s processed daily. This resulted in a significant cut of process time by an overall 26%.• Measured, Designed, and created foam tool cutouts for 120 different production tools. Quickly learned SolidWorks and HSM Xpress and how to operate a CNC machine for fabrication purposes. This project led to a more ergonomic tool tray presentation in the production floor allowing assemblers to quickly identify their tools, use them, and immediately flag any missing tool. I also created a training document used by manufacturing engineers in their future designs of cutouts for new tools. The outcome of this project was a significant reduction in tool check-in/checkout times by 06 working hours/day as well as a reduction of build stoppages due to tool shortages or misplacements by 30%.• Designed and implemented a specific process for mech assemblers to report build issues in a live mode triggering immediate resolution. Item owners are manufacturing engineers for work instructions related issues and material handlers for material issues (defective or short). This new process added visibility to work in process and tremendously reduced build stoppages by 55% and eliminated motion waste.

Led a mechanical production team of 48 assemblers + 1 supervisor. Main responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, training, tooling, certifications, and procurement. Constantly cooperated with the engineering team to develop tool fixtures, foam cutouts, shadowboxes, and continuously improve work instructions:• Played a central role in raising team awareness of company’s goal of zero mechanical defects. Used historical data to do a root-cause analysis, watch for trends, repeaters, opportunities, and make recommendations to the assembler team to pinpoint opportunities in work instructions and prevent the “Next” defect from happening which boosted the team to constantly be alert and not “lower their guard” for every build and every sequence day in and day out. This resulted in a significant reduction of the number of internally reported defects from 44 DPMO to 04 DPMO (90-day window). In fact, we had over 6 months run without any defect.• Put together a training program for newly hired assemblers allowing them to quickly get a grasp of our assembly processes. Focus on our computer integrated system that guides operators step by step from first to last build sequences. This training made it possible for a new assembler to be entrusted with a production build in few days and raised their confidence level in terms of “know How” attitude in addition to preventing defects due to a lack of training or lack of exposure to some complex assemblies where their concentration and involvement is required.• Wrote macros with VBA to keep track of operator’s performance in terms of build pace as the tact time is directly impacted by how fast or slow an operator can be and for tracking assemblers’ certifications on a large variety of assemblies. This made a difference in terms of scheduling operators daily considering customers demand, availability of resources, and scheduling flexibility when changes occur.

Conducted industrial engineering analyses to successfully resolve complex issues throughout the company. Heavily contributed into multiple projects that have benefited many departments such as purchasing, manufacturing engineering, production control, and production. Support of inter-company teams’ requests of specific and detailed information by creating tailored reports using system databases. Developed various K.P. I’s (Key Performance Indicators) for area managers:• Wrote a procedure detailing the process of preparing hardware tray in sequences using a specific application for kitting purposes. This is used as a training document ensuring a smooth rotation of hardware preparers and eliminating build defects due to hardware tray errors. • Worked closely with Purchasing department to understand and map all procurement processes. Created a macro that allowed Purchasing Manager to track daily progress of team members in terms of Kit Commits and how they affect company’s revenue. My work increased the number of Kits Committed to be dropped for production workorders by 18%.

Collected, analyzed, tracked, and validated production metrics data reported for TL-9000 QMS. Maintained ISO-9000 records by coordinating and performing internal audit activities. Interfaced with vendors and customers in regard to quality issues. Wrote macros to facilitate internal processes for Document Control and for Manufacturing Engineering. Maintained Employee Training Database, Production Tooling Shortage Database, and Full Materials Database. Assisted Manufacturing engineers in ECO/MCO/PCR/PCN documentation and implementation. Reviewed documents submitted by Contract Manufacturers for Environmental Compliance.
