I am passionate about sustainable and regenerative design; not just leaving the world as it was, but making it better for future generations. Finding our way through the current tumultuous landscape that includes a climate crisis and global pandemic is not easy. But I believe that as designers of the spatial realm, we have the tools and abilities to respond accordingly and create new ways of living - a sustainable and responsive future. After completing my Masters of Architecture [M-ARCH] at Curtin University on the topic of a 'Resilient Response to Rising Sea Levels in the Maldives', I was awarded the WA Board of Architects Graduate Prize (2018). This gave me the opportunity to travel to Japan and Europe, where I further explored ideas of responsive aquatic design. I am currently working at GHD Design, where I continue to learn about architecture and its role in designing places for people, and shaping future cities.

Through an internship program, student architects across Australasia are invited to explore challenges of different urban site conditions by addressing a series of briefs developed by five participating architectural practices. We worked specifically with HTApizzini to develop a brief which focuses around the idea of Re-appropriating the Urban Misadventures, and as a project facilitator I will also be involved with liaising with students. The SarAWAKEN project occurred within the Curtin Malaysia campus in Miri. The goal was to invigorate the public and provoke conversation about their city. The final product resulted in a permanent exhibition installed within the Miri Campus, just the beginning of a three-stage program. Show less
