I led a technology strategy project for Covered California’s Sales division, with the goal of delivering an optimal systems architecture to support interaction with over 20,000 sales partners in multiple channels (insurance agents, navigators, community partners, etc.).I developed an overall program (including roadmap, timeline, and budget) and assisted Covered CA leadership in obtaining funding and approval. Led the implementation of a custom CRM based on the FedRAMP-certified GovCloud instance of Salesforce.com, with cloud-based integrations to key systems including CalHEERS and IPAS.Benefits of this initiative include:►Achieving a single unified system allows all levels of sales staff and leadership to view sales partner production and Covered CA staff activities to connect and support sales partners.►Dashboards allow Covered CA managers to drive 1-on-1 conversations with sales staff, focusing on key goals with real-time information from the Sales CRM.►Data integration allows Covered CA staff to view up-to-date information from source systems and to have a single consolidated view of sales partners in the Sales CRM.►iContact integration allows Covered CA to reliably distribute Agent and Community Partner briefings and to track open and clickthrough rates.

In this engagement I drove strategy definition and the development of an implementation plan for a national physician staffing company (over 1,000 physicians located at 120+ facilities), working as a subconsultant to Freed Associates.►The physician staffing firm had a high-level business goal of leveraging clinical and operational data from emergency department, ambulatory care, and hospital services, and required support to realize this goal.►The technical challenges included the need to collect and harmonize data across a diverse set of EMRs, ADT systems, and other data sources including EPIC, Cerner, Siemens and McKesson on-premises systems, AthenaHealth and similar cloud-based systems, and ancillary data sources such as Press-Ganey patient satisfaction scores.►I supported the development of an architectural plan for an integration hub, data warehouse, and reporting solution, along with roadmap, resource plan, and budget for implementation.►In parallel, I supported development of a bidder short-list and definition of a bid process and timeline.►As part of the project team I managed the bid process, including creation of an RFP, review and scoring of bid responses, and conducting in-person technical and business interviews as well as advising the client on bidder selection and contract negotiations.►The next phase of the project (implementation of the hub, data warehouse, and reporting solution at pilot sites) will provide near-real-time access to clinical data and will provide dashboards for key clinical and operational measures including sepsis prevention, CMS core measures, readmittance rates, Length of Stay, etc.

I have been a consultant for McKesson's Pharma division through multiple consulting firms (Organon, HS Consulting, PwC). Engagement lead and data architect for key pharmaceutical industry clients McKesson Corporation and Genentech. Leading a team of 12 data analysts and database developers, created decision support tools to enable these clients to perform optimal pricing and to maintain ideal inventory levels of pharmaceutical products representing over $5BB/year of revenue. In addition, developed and managed a Data Operations program focused on reliable and timely provision of data from legacy systems (SAP, MVS mainframe, Salesforce.com) to populate data warehouses and data marts with timely, accurate data for use in decision support tools.

Served as Project Manager and Engagement Lead for a number of healthcare facilities projects related to OSHPD compliance and JCAHO accreditation. These projects involved designing around active surgery suites and other patient treatment operations while performing significant renovations to building structures and systems.
