CurrentThe Energy Management Operations Centre (EMOC) is a 24/7 multidisciplinary team accountable for operational support of 24 generation facilities across North America. Ranging from thermal and renewable assets, EMOC provides real-time management, compliance monitoring, and risk mitigation for ~7400MW of potential power.EMOC’s real-time services includes effective coordination of information amongst plant operators, balancing authorities, grid operators, transmission operators, and customers; monitoring of remote renewable assets; financial settlement; market rule compliance management; operational analytics; as well as remote operation of renewable assets.•Create and manage generating asset real-time offer submissions in accordance with corporate policies, Independent System Operator (ISO) market rules, and regulatory requirements.•Manage generating asset outages, testing, and ISO directives in real-time.•Support Operations’ crews as they perform maintenance and repair activities.•Remotely monitor wind farms and support operational analytics to maximize the sites’ value and availability.•Provide support to other Capital Power cross-functional teams to integrate and commission new generating assets into Capital Power’s fleet of generating assets and EMOC.•Complete analytics necessary to meet EMOC’s real-time, financial settlement, risk management, operations, and reporting obligations.•Maintain process/system documentation, training guides, and tools.•Identify and provide recommendations on how systems and processes can be improved or enhanced.•Complete accurate and timely operational analytics for stakeholders or the manager upon request. •Proactively identify and lead ad-hoc projects that supports EMOC’s business plan objectives.•Execute projects for Capital Power’s Engineering teams, or other teams to enhance real-time operations.•Participate in rotations or other short-term support in technical or business teams.
