Ayman H. Ismail received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees both in electrical engineering from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, in 1998 and 2002, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada, in 2007.From 1998 to 2002, he worked as a research assistant and a teaching assistant at the ECE Dept. of Ain Shams University. In 2001, he joined AIAT VLSI design house as a part-time senior analog mixed-signal design engineer. From 2003 to 2007, he was a research assistant at the VLSI Lab, of the University of Waterloo. During the winter of 2005, he had an internship at Texas Instruments, Dallas, Texas, where he was involved in the design of digital PLLs, and low noise voltage controlled oscillators. From 2007 to 2009, he was an analog IC design engineer with the IP division of Gennum Corporation (Snowbush IP), Toronto, ON, Canada. In 2009, Dr. Ismail joined Si-ware Systems, Cairo Egypt, where his work spanned AMS circuit design (ADCs, PLLs), system design, and leading and managing complex ASICs developments. Most notably, Dr. Ismail co-led the development of Sigma-delta based interface ASICs for inertial-sensors and multi-protocol Transceiver ASIC for tolling systems, that went all the way to mass production. In the process, he proposed new ideas (some were patented) that enabled these products. Since 2019, Dr. Ismail has been with Goodix, Cairo, Egypt, where he initially served as a Senior technical director, managing the AMS/RF and the layout teams, and was involved in the development of NFCC products. Currently, he is the general manager of Goodix IC design center in Cairo, Egypt (Goodix Egypt).Dr. Ismail has more than 25 IEEE Journal and conference publications, one published book, and 5 granted US patents. He is, also, the recipient of the overall winning design award and the analog/mixed-signal design award from Mentor Graphics, in 2002. Dr. Ismail research interests include high performance analog-to-digital converters, analog filters, interface circuits for sensors, and sigma-delta techniques.
