The skin is surprisingly fascinating😶- A&E, where my parents commented that I had medical student syndrome, 'the desire to pursue a speciality after having just come out of placement from it' identified by frequent career change declarations- Gen Surg, my mammoth 12 week placement which took up the summer holidays. Working with Faithstar, a social enterprise, who was both our host and client, I embarked on my first qualitative research project as outlined below:- Designed a 4-week qualitative study in a team of four entitled ““A Different Kind of GP service – A look into the current state of GP services” focused on post-COVID-19 general practice services- Performed thematic analysis on topics discussed by service users and GPs during a mix of face to face and virtual interviews to develop a set of policy recommendations- Disseminated findings using a multi-modal approach (film, poster and presentation) to raise awareness of unequal access and distribution in the local community and how they have been navigated and addressed with a particular focus on minority communities- Recognised by the University of Sheffield Student Body as being the 'Best Project' within our Voting BlockCommunication was the key word for this project. Developing a research project from the ground-up in such time constraints meant that close collaboration with stakeholders was vital to ensure that the project brief was met and timely delivery was accomplished.

As part of my roles, I managed a group of 6-12 students with the support of my colleagues to help tutor them in badminton and ensure a friendly learning environment. Problem-solving played a large role, for example when members injured themselves in their exuberance where he had to follow protocols and put everyone present at ease. Teaching multiple people at the same time also developed my compartmentalisation skills and an understanding of how different people work.

Developed teamwork and organisation skills during my four year tenure. I worked with and supported teachers and peers, took initiative and supported the logistics for school-wide surveys, trips and student interviews for new staff. My most memorable experiences were the introduction of reward trips for students who put in the greatest effort throughout the academic year and establishing a house point rewards system to make the school house systems more relevant
