The 6 week internship program proceeded as follows in the electrical and instrumentation department:1st Week• Basic introduction to plant processes• Safety briefings and emergency procedures• Processes for risk minimization 2nd Week• Introduction to Instruments-II, sections and facilities • Introduction to instrument symbols and P & I diagrams• Type of test instruments their usage and upkeep 3rd Week• Instruments, transmitters and switches • SOV’s, EP’s • Data Sheets and history cards • Brief Study of valves and PSV’s 4th Week• Familiarization of Yokogawa DCS • Signal flow details • Loop diagrams and concepts 5th Week• Study of PLC and basics of ESD systems used throughout the plant • Hands on training on PLC Triconix simulator 6th Week• Internship report, area visits and conclusion
