Two months after finishing my college graduation project, I was drinking my coffee and thinking about my past and future. Future as in the tech field to aim for as my career, and past just daydreaming about how we could have optimized our graduation project to convert our highly functional prototype into a real consumer device one day. Funny enough, this daydreaming was the spark to ignite my passion and dedication for building highly efficient systems.At first, this translated to the Embedded Systems field. Unfortunately, 1 year later after finishing my military service, the market for it turned cold, and I had no choice but to shift my effort to other fields, namely Software Development and DevOps. Now my focus is on learning how to build efficient programs and environments.Let me tell you about my spark: A. EyeMy graduation project was a prototype Raspberry Pi Linux device, to help visually impaired individuals in their daily lives, that was in the form of a watch bigger than Ben 10's omnitrex, not glasses for national security reasons. Consisted of 4 smart recognition modes for objects, faces, text, and Egyptian currency. It takes voice commands from the user to choose the mode, takes pictures with a camera, and returns the result as voice back to the user. I was responsible for programming the models for faces and text recognition, optimizing input data for faster processing, handling Linux OS services to minimize latency, and documenting code and thesis since I was best at clean code and technical writing.Technical details are in the project description down below.As for me, my B.Sc. is in Electronics with a Computer Engineering Major. Survived 5 years of brain cells abuse. Built a strong foundation in databases, data structures, algorithms, compilers, AI, networks, operating systems, computer structure, programming, and more. I was mainly a thinking machine in college who spent sleepless nights agonizing about clustering problems, 8081 processor structure, compiler lexical analysis, database normalization, network programming, low-level image processing, and so on. I think I had serious sleep deprivation now that I think about it... Well, I still enjoyed every bit of it. No wonder some friends call me a robot ¯\_(ツ)_/¯I look forward to connecting with professionals in the different technical fields to share insights and explore potential opportunities.
