With a team of talented undergraduate researchers, we led research efforts to develop the Perceived Campus Safety Scale (PCSS) to measure the subjective safety of students on campus. We are currently in the process of getting our research published in an international journal. Throughout the research, I lead the team in the following efforts:- Single-handedly researched and proposed the idea- Conducted an extensive literature review- Researched, recreated, and adapted relevant scales- Conducted interviews with +30 campus members from a number of universities in Turkey- Transcribed and analyzed the interviews with thematic analysis- Created a 20-item scale to measure Campus Safety- Collected data through extensive surveys with +300 participants- Analyzed results of the survey with SPSS- Determined the reliability and validities of the scale- Wrote, re-wrote, and proofread the final manuscript (x4)Through this research we got valuable insights on campus safety and got extensive experience in conducting quantitative and qualitative research.

Focused on two main research projects: Intergroup human-robot interactions and the effect of language on cognition (individual differences across visualizer-verbalizer scale effect on change detection task). I single-handedly created and designed the UI of a newsletter from scratch, and managed and oversaw a team of writers and designers who created content for the newsletter of Istanbul&I, a non-profit. During my time, we conducted user interviews to improve the usability of our newsletter. I also oversaw the expansion of our newsletter into a blog. Using Photoshop and MailChimp, I created the template for the newsletter and set up a sustainable system for the continuation of the project.
