I have done my industrial training under Lumileds Malaysia Plant 2 at Bayan Lepas, Penang.During the internship period, I was assigned under Engineering Equipment Group (EEG) and mainly working along with the Lead Equipment Engineer and Assisting Engineer. Throughout the internship period:- Assigned to handle End of Shift Report which consists of the machine maintenance and work over activities in the production lines for three departments which are Pick and Place, Selene and DOP Department. This database are important to track back the performance of the machine downtime and observe the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) which are needed to be updated in weekly basis before present them to the management during weekly meeting. - Assigned to work with the Lead Equipment Engineer for the improvement project of visual inspection station and contamination issues in the production lines.- Assigned to prepare for the equipment Buy Off report to track back the machine's performance downtime whether its passed the company requirement or not and report it back to the management.- Team up with assisting engineer to come up with the improvement project for the visual inspection station which is Poka Yoke Wrist Strap Station Improvement Project. I also used this project as part of my industrial training project which is the requirement by UTP. Basically, Poka Yoke is any mechanism in a lean manufacturing process that helps an equipment operator avoids mistakes. its purpose is to eliminate product defects by preventing, correcting attention to human errors as they occur. In manufacturing factory, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) events need to be avoid at all cost to make sure the quality of the product. The objectives of this project is to make sure the downtime of visual inspection station is decreasing which will increase the production line efficiency and reduces the cost to replace the existing Continuous Wrist Strap Monitor which have a short lifetime.
