As an MBA Connector (aka Project Manager) at the UofT Entrepreneurship Hatchery, I advised multiple pre-revenue start-ups (37 teams in 2018 cohort), of which I was on the advisory board for 5. Given most teams being at the ideation and pre-revenue stage at the Hatchery, we focus heavily on market validation and good founder-market fit. This involves a rigorous iterative approach; Research > Testing > Pitching > Critique over 4 months. We also liaise with 50+ experienced industry professionals who are leaders in their respective fields; acting as mentors to teams - providing feedback & critique, as well as Advisors/Angel investors further down the road. Historically, 12-15 teams are shortlisted from the cohort to pitch their businesses at the end of the summer at Demo Day. I am proud to share that out of the 13 teams selected for 2018, 4 were under my wing. My teams highly valued my inputs and efforts, and I was able to build strong relationships with each of them; translating to equity offers to continue working with them as a cofounding member. Fall 2018 Speaker Series: On completing my role as an MBA connector in September 2018, I was offered to continue with The Hatchery to manage the Hatchery's Entrepreneurship Speaker Series which involved liaising with Founders & CEOs from start-ups, scale-ups & venture capital firms such as Impression Ventures, Hero Ventures, Second Closet, Station Cold Brew and so on. discussing their journeys and experiences with budding entrepreneurs and engineers. The Project was a success and generated massive engagement through target attendance for each speaker.

The CIBSE - YEN (Young Engineers Network) is a lucrative network for budding engineers in UAE to meet and interact with engineers with similar interests and background. This opens up a platform for discussion as well as the opportunity to trade ideas and experience. As the communications officer, my main role was to spread awareness about the YEN and it's activities through social media, networking and all the other tricks of the trade! Also always on the lookout for collaborations and projects which could benefit the community through combined resources and innovation. Having led the charge, I established the CIBSE - YEN's digital footprint, helping to connect and build a significant following in the building services community. I also ensured digital media was up to professional standard while boosting engagement through live streams and well documented event summaries. Our efforts helped build an infrastructure to host prestigious events such as the Global Chairs Conference 2017, While I have since moved on from the YEN, I continue to support the initiative towards a sustainable and innovative future.

BeZingo Media Consultancy was a startup that catered to Middle Eastern SMEs' digital & design requirements. Hassanain and I bootstrapped BeZingo through personal investment running the business out of our homes before incorporating as a Free Zone Company, betting on trends in digital transformation as well as technology & innovation. We helped build creative strategies tailored to the unique business models of our clients, and made sure to continue partnership through the implementation stages to achieve results. Our differentiation was primarily on price point, lean operations and workflow, while BeZingo's unfair advantage lay in the long-standing client relations and massive network built during the operations of The Republic UAE (Non-Profit).However, given adverse economical conditions, growth plateaued and I made the difficult decision to divest in 2017 and pursue further training at Rotman's prestigious MBA.My overarching role at BeZingo was to handle executive decisions and ensure smooth implementation of projects. However, I wore multiple hats - Ensuring cohesive client relationships through periodic meetings, often providing further insights to win additional work, writing contracts for each of the projects and conducting market research for the same and making sure to put out any fires that may present themselves during daily operations.

-Conducted, Supervised and Administered professional examinations; ACCA, CFA, IELTS and other courses offered by distance learning universities. -Very highly trained in customer service, procedural administration, troubleshooting and effective communication techniques. -Oversaw operations in transcription of interviews and focus group surveysThese examinations were conducted mainly on weekends and required invigilators, marshals, supervisors and administrators. I have taken responsibility of each role over the course of 4 years and understood their requirements. This allowed me to utilize weekends and other spare time during university to gain valuable experience in dealing with other students and networks while gaining insight into a charitable organisation of such volume.

-Lean Management Thesis -Assistance with ongoing jobs -Weekly Reports-Interaction with top managementAs a trainee, my role was to observe and lightly assist in all operations that took place at Wartsila's 10000 sq. foot workshop. I rotated between all departments to understand the workflow right from Cleaning and Inspection to the Governor shop, Turbocharger Shop, Reconditioning Bay, Fuel Shop, Laser Alignment, Lathe Shop etc. I also completed a Lean Management Thesis on the Dubai workshop for effective cost saving of 1-1.5% of annual revenue. The topic of the thesis was "Study and Analysis of Lean Management Techniques" and worked on different methods to improve productivity in the workshop along with minimizing of avoidable costs. The thesis consisted was written with original ideas and primary research which was aided by the top management of the firm, who were consulted throughout.

It grew rapidly from 5 members to over 200 in a span of 3 years due to the highly successful and CSR related projects we undertook.The Republic was a platform for the members to channel their focus during university and school to help the community and work on self improvement. As the founding and managing members reached the final year of universities, justice couldn't be done to the movement and it was put on hold.

With high proficiency in AutoCAD, I was able to work on campus as a Professor's Assistant at the Engineering Graphics lab during my 7th Semester. My main responsibilities were to tutor first and second year students on the usage of AutoCAD and assist with grading and invigilation. I was able to further my understanding of the software through practice and by clearing complex queries that many students brought up. I also managed to troubleshoot glitches with ease.

- Trained in Customer Service- Assisted with inventory management, aesthetic store layout and sales accounts. On graduating from High School, I decided to utilize the summer before university to pursue my first employment experience. Joining Reebok's biggest store in the UAE at The Dubai Mall during the summer allowed me to gain valuable understanding of how a retail store functions during months of sale, right from supply to sales and stocking. Working 10-12 hour shifts even during the month of Ramadan allowed me to build a strong foundation while asserting that there was no substitute to hard work. My main responsibilities were to assist the Store Manager and Staff, assist customers with queries and re-stock at the end of day. I also assisted with the accounts and sales as I was proficient with computers and mathematics.
