BiOSC is a prominent study club within the Faculty of Biology at Universitas Gadjah Mada, dedicated to the scientific exploration of orchids, including their research, cultivation, and conservation. The club engages in a variety of activities aimed at advancing knowledge in the field of orchids. These activities include practical workshops on tissue culture to enhance plant propagation, conducting explorations to assess orchid diversity in specific regions, and facilitating discussions with experts in orchid science.- Engaging in explorations of orchid diversity in Yogyakarta, while systematically gathering data on various orchid species- Actively participating in discussions with fellow members focused on issues related to orchid conservation

- Responsible for organizing social events during Ramadhan 2021, specifically the BiOSC Berbagi Bersama (BiORAMA) initiative, which took place at the Panti Asuhan Atap Langit in Yogyakarta- Tasked with fostering collaboration and maintaining communication with various study groups within the Faculty of Biology at Universitas Gadjah Mada

Kedaireka represents a significant initiative within the Kampus Merdeka framework, aimed at bridging the gap between academic institutions and the industrial sector. Among the various programs under the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative, one notable implementation is "Biotechnology-Based Banana Cultivation through Tissue Culture." This program offers students the opportunity to engage directly in the advancement of banana seed production utilizing biotechnological methods, specifically tissue culture techniques. The curriculum encompasses lectures delivered by industry practitioners in biotechnology, as well as internship opportunities at partner companies specializing in plant tissue culture.

PT Pesona Republik Pisang (PRP) serves as a partner in the MBKM Kedaireka initiative, specializing in the cultivation of banana plants. The company manages 4 hectares dedicated to this agricultural endeavor. The cultivation process at PT PRP encompasses seeding, maintenance, and harvesting. The banana seeds utilized are of the Cavendish variety, sourced through tissue culture and enhanced with beneficial microbes to promote optimal growth. The bananas produced by PT PRP are recognized for their high quality, comparable to that of imported varieties.- Engage in the care of banana plants by participating in activities such as bagging banana bunches, pruning leaves, injecting banana hearts, fertilizing, and managing pest control- Contribute to the post-harvest phase by assisting in grading, packing, and ensuring quality assurance throughout each step of the process

PT Widya Teknologi Hayati, also known as PT Widya Life Science (Wilis), is a key collaborator in the MBKM Kedaireka initiative, specializing in plant and microbial biotechnology. The MBKM activities at PT Wilis primarily focus on the propagation of banana plants through the technique of plant tissue culture. This process encompasses several stages, including the preparation of culture media and explants, the initiation of explants derived from banana tubers, and subsequent subculturing. Additionally, the banana plant seeds produced are enhanced with beneficial microbes that promote plant growth.- Involved in the plant tissue culture process such as the preparation of culture media, explant preparation, initiation, and subculturing, all conducted with strict adherence to aseptic techniques.- Engaged in the research and development of the media utilized for the initiation and subculture of banana plants, incorporating specific antibiotics or other enriching additives to optimize growth.
