Main Responsibilities:• Leading and conducting criminal prosecutions, on behalf of the State, in diverse types of challenging economic and financial crimes. To name a few: banking, money laundering, anti-trust, capital markets, consumer protection, intellectual property rights, telecommunication and cybercrimes. • Providing advice to the management about whether to send the suspect(s) to trial or not, based on the prosecutor’s discretionary power to weight the circumstances of each event, in addition to providing the evidence gathered in each case. • Managing communication with relevant national stakeholders, such as the National Telecom Regulatory Authority, Central Bank, Financial Regulatory Authority, Egyptian Competition Authority, Internal Trade Development Authority, Administrative Control Authority, and the Egyptian Financial Intelligence Unit, with respect to the collaborative framework for combating different financial and economic criminal activities. • Providing consultancy, on behalf of the Office, to the aforementioned stakeholders upon their request, on the newly adopted national strategies, policies and regulations to combat criminal activities that fall under their mandates. • Examining Cairo Economic Court rulings on felonies, and subsequently, providing management with reasoned opinions about whether there are legal grounds to appeal before the Court of Cassation. • Examining Cairo Economic Court rulings on misdemeanours, and determine if there are legal justifications to appeal before the Court of Appeals. • Training newly appointed prosecutors on the prosecution of various economic and financial crimes.

Main Responsibilities: • Conducted interviews with applicants seeking asylum in Egypt in the context of the relevant UN guidelines and international legal rules. Based on this, evaluated the applicant’s request for refugee status. • Assisted in interviewing high-profile Iraqi asylum seekers in Egypt. Assessing their claims and determining if the applicant had committed any actions, in Iraq that could be considered crimes against humanity and war crimes.

Main Responsibilities: • Participated in a collective temporary assignment that aimed to gather data and identify potential lines of analysis on migration to Egypt. The findings of this assignment were included in the annual World Migration Report, published by the IOM regional office in 2013.

Protection Unit: • Conduct legal referrals to the UNHCR legal partner. In addition, perform the necessary follow up.• Assist in conducting protection interviews with the persons of concern to the UNHCR and assist in adjudicating their protection claims. • Assist in drafting correspondence to the national authorities related to the detention or refoulement of persons of concern to the UNHCR.

• Liaison officer in the 2012 Egyptian presidential elections, between the Carter Center’s international election witnessing mission and various Egyptian governmental and non-governmental bodies, such as the law enforcement agencies, the judiciary, the media, and political parties

• Conducting legal researches on various matters for senior attorneys.• Review and translate various legal materials (Contracts, Memos, Correspondence…etc).
