I studied Master's in Lasers and Photonics in Ruhr University Bochum. I have finished my Master’s thesis in the field Attosecond and Strong Field Physics from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. I worked on the alignment and optimization of a split-and-delay unit, which will be used in combination with a coincidence spectrometer for time-resolved experiments using isolated and trains of attosecond pulses. This end-station will be built and tested at the Physics Institute of the university of Freiburg, before being moved at the laser facility ELI-ALPS in Szeged, Hungary. I have accumulated both theoretical and practical knowledge in Laser technology, Laser material processing, and Optics technology. With regards to engineering, through the academic projects, I have gained experience in operating high-power laser systems, understanding optical setups, and have practiced different laser systems for various applications. I have completed two projects, "Temperature-dependent Reflectivity of Copper" and "Semiconductor Laser Gain Measurement" in addition to all the mandatory course work. I am a determined and hardworking learner and have great value for time. I believe my experience in laboratory with these two projects and my Master’s thesis will come very handy while working in your group. In my Bachelors related to Electrical engineering I build an autonomous mobile robot guided by a vision system (an overhead mounted camera) for sorting objects based on their shape, color and size and to escort them to their respective predefined home positions. Objects were detected using image processing and were differentiated on MATLAB based on their shapes, colours, and sizes. The challenge was to implement a real-time robot sorting system using a defined communication pattern. The main features of the sorting algorithm consisted of integrated modules for image acquisition and processing, object identification and selection. In addition to academic team projects that require collaboration and strong writing and presentation skills, I have also been active in some volunteering events and extra co-curricular activities. I have been part of the TEDx RUB team for two years (2018-2019) and we have organised two successful TEDx events in this time. In addition to my native language Urdu, I am also fluent in English. I also have intermediate knowledge of the German language, but I am continuously practicing and improving it.
