I have been an urban designer/urban planner for the last 20 years working on some of the largest urban development projects in the MENA region in different capacities. I worked as a master plan manager for King Abdallah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh, KSA and Tourism development for the 320 km of the Mediterranean shores of Libya. I was the planner for many projects in Oman, Qatar and UAE while working in the UAE. I am currently doing urban planning work for villages and cities in Egypt, while at the same tie doing architectural consultancies.I am a full professor of urban design at Cairo University where I am trying to help the next generations of architects and designers have better understanding of the complex issues of urbanization and good quality of urban life.
