    • Clean Fuel and Aromatics Project, Ras Tanura Refinery-Lead process engineer, managed FEED phase project for designing C5/C6 Isomerization unit and a new world scale aromatics facilities necessary to produce Benzene and Toluene products as part of Clean Fuel and Aromatic Project. The Isomarization unit has a design capacity of 58 MBPSD Licenced by Axens. -Main responsibilities included leading the Process design work; Managing process engineering team activities, schedule & budget; Helping coordinate Front End process design activities between Licensor and Client; Developing and reviewing PFDs, H&M Balance, P&IDs, equipment and instrumentation data sheets and LDT’s; Carrying out Hydraulic calculations, relief load calculations, relief valve sizing, equipment sizing, instrument specification, equipment material requisition & quotation analysis. • Steam Turbine Generators (STGs) Project, Ju’Aymah NGLF Plant-Managed process team to develop project proposal deliverables for the installation of two Steam Turbine Generators (STGs - 46 MW) at JNGLF plant. -Main responsibilities included leading a comprehensive process study to determine the new turbines design capacity based existing plant steam balance; Studying the historical data of high pressure steam demand feeding multiple HP/LP let-down stations; Integrating the new turbines as a Vendor Package with the existing facilities; Liaising with several turbine vendors including Dresser Rand, GE, Mitsubishi and Elliot for optimizing turbine efficiency and to expedite submission of package proposal; Developing PFDs and P&IDs; Preparing Process Data sheets and Line Designation Tables.

The plant includes three phase separation facilities, crude oil treatment unit, water treatment & de-oiling systems, and HP steam generation and utilities.-Developed and reviewed simulation model, PFDs, BFDs, H&M Balance and utility summary. Carried out equipment sizing. Prepared an equipment list for major equipment and vendor packages. Estimated pumps motor size and prepared motors load list. Conducted varies studies including produced gas cooling at the well pads, Water/steam integration scenarios with the existing plant.

Used HYSYS for development of process simulation models. -Conducted equipment and relief valve sizing. Developed drawings and documents such as PFDs, H&M balance, P&IDs, equipment data sheets, utility summary, equipment list and, cause & effect diagrams. Prepared basis of design document and operating, control and shutdown philosophy. -Played key role in HAZOP review studies. • Sultan and Q/Alkabir Fields Development Project involved in 30 MBPD Gas Oil Separation Plant (GOSP), multi-phase pumps as well as gas treatment and compression facilities. The scope also included flow lines, trunk line and export oil and gas pipelines.• Lateef Field Development Project involved in 18 MBPD GOSP, economizer, water bath heater, dehydrator, storage and shipping pumps facilities plus utilities. The scope also included a 23 kM export oil pipeline. • Tripoli Main Terminal Project (TMT), BPMC, Libya-Completed the FEED phase of installing a new storage terminal for large inventory of refined products. The new terminal includes a total of 30 floating and fixed roof tanks (API 650 low pressure tanks) for Gasoline, Gasoil, Kerosene, Jet fuel, in addition to 9 LPG spheres plus pumping facilities. The floating and fixed roof tanks are designed and sized for nominal capacities (varies between 16,500 to 35,000 m3). The LPG spheres are designed for 3200 m3 each.During this period I was also responsible for multiple projects and studies related to new gas discoveries, pipeline expansion and fuel gas treatment unit replacement.

    I was a Senior Process Engineer working on the following major projects:• Crude Distillation Unit Expansion Project, Yanbu Refinery, Saudi Aramco-Process lead; responsible for developing new LPG Merox unit, licensed by UOP, as part of maximizing crude processing capacity of Yanbu refinery (from 235 MBPD to 360 MBPD). The new Merox unit design throughput is 5000 BPD. It is for extracting contaminants of H2S and Mercaptan Sulfur from LPG. The unit is designed and configured to be operated in parallel with an existing unit. -Integrated the new unit with existing facilities such as Naphtha stabilizer, Amine regeneration system, Caustic regeneration facilities, storage tanks, utilities and offsite facilities.• Dhahran-Riyadh Pipeline Expansion project, Saudi Aramco-Conducted the FEED design phase to maximize D-R pipeline capacity to 285 MBOD for shipping white product of Diesel and Gasoline. -The scope included the installation of new shipping pumps at the existing pump stations and adding two new intermediate pump stations to overcome the increase in the pipeline pressure drop.• Manifa Field Development Project, Saudi Aramco-Investigated and checked thoroughly, all Khurasaniyah Gas Plant (KGP) existing facilities in Saudi Arabia for the processing of additional sour gas and condensate from Manifa GOSP (70 KM away from KGP). The new grass-roots Manifa GOSP designed for 900 MBPD of Arabic Heavy Crude, 150 MMSCFD of sour gas and 60 MBPD of sour condensate. -Evaluated all KGP equipment, process units and utilities to accommodate LP sour gas and sour condensate from Manifa and check if any requirements for plant de-bottlenecking. The facilities include; LP and HP DGA Gas Sweetening Units, Sour Condensate Stripper facilities, NGL Recovery Units, Propane Refrigeration System, Gas and Liquid dehydration units, Regeneration Gas System, Sweet Feed Gas and Sales Gas Compression facilities.
