The express train has a higher line capacity, which reduces traffic congestion, achieves higher passenger safety, a better impact on the environment, aids in economic development, enhances the infrastructure of the area and helps contain urban sprawl. This project will contribute to linking the New Administrative Capital and the new cities with the railway network to transport passengers and goods through a fast, modern and safe means of transportation. Implementation of a fast electric train line (passengers & goods) linking the city of Ain Sukhna on the Red Sea coast to the city of Matruh on the Mediterranean coast• The route extends from Ain Sukhna to October Gardens, then branches in the south to Fayoum / Beni Suef to connect with the second line and branches in the north to Alexandria, El Alamein and Marsa Matruh, with a length of about 660 km and 24/22 stations (12 express train stations, 12 regional stations and they will be checked in a phased Final design) and will be implemented within 24 months. The design speed of the project is 250 km / h, the operational speed of electric express trains is 230 km / h, regional electric trains are 160 km / h, and electric cargo tractors are 120 km / h.
