Ahmed is an urban researcher focusing on elucidating the dichotomy between depleted communities and societal disruption through understanding the contemporary relationships and discursive practices between the discourses of people, power, and place utilizing mapping and critical cartography. Ahmed obtained his MSc from Brandenburg University of Technology, Germany in Urban Design and Heritage Studies and his BA in Architecture from Alexandria University, Egypt. In addition to his teaching and research activities in Portsmouth School of Architecture, he has engaged in several research and practice projects with several governmental bodies and NGOs on the same area of interests.
