With an amazing team, I helped initiate a mission called Airlift in 2019, as the technical co-founder. Airlift was determined to build a world of self-empowerment using technology-backed logistics solutions that enable safe, reliable and affordable access to necessities. Airlift scaled Pakistan's largest decentralized transportation network to change the way people move, shifting away from private vehicles towards shared mobility and affordable mass transport. In 2020, Airlift diversified into last-mile delivery through Airlift Express, delivering essentials across households in 30 minutes across nine cities in Pakistan, soon launching across South Africa. Airlift Express spans across food supplies, household supplies, pharmacy, stationery, pet food, fresh fruits and vegetables, small electronics and more. On this mission to enable self-empowerment in the region, Airlift raised $110m+ USD in venture financing.Created a world class technology team of 125 engineers in Pakistan and South Africa that developed the complete Airlift ecommerce, last mile, supply chain and data warehousing solutions that worked flawlessly at scale.

Worked as Country Manager, heading a team of over 250 engineers, responsible for the entire delivery from Pakistan office. This included end-to-end operations (engineering, project management, HR, finance, budgets, facility management etc.) and engineering management including project delivery to customers, team formations, talent acquisitions, creation and roll-out of internal back-office applications and improvements, employee engagement, leadership training, process management, sales and marketing and company representation at all Pakistan-based events.

Enjoyed being part of the amazing Folio3 team, contributing as VP of Operations. It was an organization-wide leadership role. Reporting to the CEO, my core responsibilities included heading PMO, HR, finance and admin groups. Complete ownership of HR Policy, talent acquisition and retention, operations oversight, end-to-end budgeting, internal process monitoring, sales forecasting, tech team bench management, cost and profitability management. My other responsibilities includes leadership training, process efficiency, customer management and satisfaction surveys, financial reporting, profitability, financial projections and departmental goals.

Worked as Senior Director of Operations at Folio3 Private Limited. My responsibilities include definition and implementation of software project management process for the 190 resource setup in Karachi, general and facility management, budgeting and business forecasting, evaluation and proposal of employee benefits, follow-up of taxation and payroll, management of finance, admin, IT and HR departments. I am also responsible for creating and updating of project management processes and perform PMO audits, company receivables analysis and follow-up, customer relations, project management feedback and issue resolution.

Had an amazing experience of a silicon valley startup as Head of Project Management Group and HR at PixSense- a start-up working on mobile phone software and cutting edge technologies (at that time) using WAP and native Nokia, J2ME based mobile applications. My core responsibility includes setting-up of PMO for PixSense, which included recruitment of resources, development of processes, setting-up the PMO hierarchy, role definition and implementation of the newly built processes in order to provide complete visibility to executive team and BoD. I am also actively managing several projects on product customization, roll-out and support for a few of the world’s largest telecoms including China Mobile, Globe Telecom, Telenor and Vodafone.Vigorously involved with Admin, Accounts and HR departments for day to day management and process compliance: Joined as Project Manager in April 2008, I was promoted to Head-Project Management Group and Operations within the first 8 months on job.

Worked as Consultant/Project Manager on multiple US-based projects in Systems Limited with various mortgage banking clients. System’s CMMi Level 3 appraisal provides the platform to practice Project Management as defined in curriculum. I successfully completed projects worth more than $2M (scaled 15000 man hours on average each) during my stay since Feb 2006. I was able to successfully manage multiple projects from initiation till closure for various Fortune 500 clients. Performed all Project Management phases planning, monitoring and control in these projects. Involved with heads of development and HR departments in order to upgrade the HR policy and procedure of the company. I also proposed a revised compensation plan for all levels within the company which has been considered by the HRD.Active involvement in follow-up correspondence on RFPs and proposal preparation. I have been the employee of choice for the management for preparation of various project proposals for local and US-based projects.

Worked as Project Manager on an online educational project based completely on open source technologies (php, mySQL, AJAX). There are multiple teams working on the product on multiple physical locations (USA, Pakistan, Italy and Belarus). My job was to handle all client requirements and produce required results by managing the teams scattered over 4 different countries, communicate with peers on other locations, entire client management and project execution and progress management.

Worked as analyst (on Abstract Data Transfer module) and senior software engineer, on PowerExplorer: a Web based data management tool with advanced capabilities to browse and manage spatial and tabular E&P data. The role of System Analyst/Programmer was to perform Use Case based analysis of the system and create a very detailed Object Oriented design for it. We used a rigorous Unified Process for OOAD and performed an exhaustive list of artifacts as a result. The position also required the Java/J2EE based implementation of the detailed design.
