About Ahmereen Rasheed

I once read a quote by Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. that was “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character that is the goal of true education.” As an Educationist, I believe this sum up the kind of education our generation requires. My former head-teacher once sent me a birthday note stating “To my passionately curious teacher”, she told me that my thirst for knowledge, my desire to research on new ways how children can learn and my devotion to passing this knowledge to others has made her write for me what Albert Einstein once quoted for himself. So here I’m; Ahmereen Ali a passionately curious teacher who believes in innovative teaching techniques and promotes inclusion in her classrooms. I am an optimistic individual who is driven by a passion for learning and teaching. I am a loyal, enthusiastic, creative and caring person who just love being with children and making a difference into the lives of these young people. I am open-minded, patient and supportive towards other people, especially towards children. My teaching ideology is as follows Educating children with facts isn’t the only purpose of education, to make them able to think is.Helping children to become compassionate individuals of the future To keep “Blooms Taxonomy” as a centric focus in curriculum developmentTo include and experiment the theory of differentiating learning in our curriculum “Everybody is a genius, all a teacher needs to know is how to cater” it as described in “Multiple Intelligences” by Howard Gardner. I want this to be the driven component of curriculum development To make learners obtain a better understanding of the concepts such as global citizenship, conflict resolution, diversity, human rights, interdependence, social justice, sustainable development, values and perceptions.
