As part of the IT Research unit I:• Built a DSL for flow based programming.• Deployed a batch processing system in the cloud (AWS), using the above system.• Implemented a patented scanning technique for scanning newspapers without violating copyright.• Wrote a quality control web application.• Implemented a system for identifying similar articles using machine learning.• Various web applications, including visualization tools for the above systems.

In this position I:• Helped develop and maintain a SOA based backend for multiple customer facing web applications.• Instumented the above to save profiling information, logs, parameters and stack traces of web service calls.• Bult an internal web application to display the above information and allow retrospective discovery of buggy or slow web service calls.• Wrote an import system that regularly obtained and parsed gigabytes of genetic data in serveral formats.• Updated existing bioinformatics systems.• Contributed to an open source tool set.
