I worked under Dr. Jason Parker of the History Department. Most of my research dealt with Truman's Point Four program and its success within the State Department. I used primary documents, such as the State Department bulletins and other time period documents. This research culminated in a finding's report (see attached) and was useful in his writing of "Hearts, Minds, Voices: US Cold War Public Diplomacy and the Formation of the Third World." Oxford Press 2016.

Cusco, Peru

Over the course of the summer I logged 150 hours as a kindergarten teacher for one of Cusco's semi-private Catholic institutions. Here, I facilitated the care of the classroom, a room of 28 children, ranging in ages of three years old to six years old. One of my unofficial duties was to tutor the director of the school in English.

I researched preliminary documents, focusing on State Department Bulletins, under Dr. Jason Parker. I found primary documentation of Truman's Point 4 humanitarian aid program from 1948-1952. I reported my findings of the communication between Washington and the State Department outposts and the patterns of political opinion as well as progress. Dr. Parker used my findings in his own research.
