- Review and interpret physician's drug order for clarity, rationality, dosage form, allergies,interactions, incompatibilities, and contraindications. Process the medication orders using thePharmacy information system.- Prepare and or supervise the preparation of parental nutrition and sterile preparations.- Monitor drug therapy for appropriateness of drug, dose, route, and duration of therapy.- Provide drug information to healthcare providers, students, and patients. Demonstrate the abilityto suggest appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff, as needed.- Implement and follow all operating procedures and policies of the section and MNGHA.- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; establishing personal networks; and participate in staff education and training.- Implement and comply with standards of practice accreditation organizations ( eg CBAHI, JointCommission, ASHP & USP).- Identify under-performance and develop service improvement plans (using the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle, PDCA) that provide solutions and enhance the overall service.- Undertake any other duties at the request of Director of Pharmaceutical Care Services. This mayinclude projects, job rotation and covering staff on leave.

• Accurately dispensing prescriptions to patients, utilizing computerized dispensing system (E-Prescription, Pharmakon and Oracle® based). • Communicating with prescribers of any Incompatibilities, Potential Drug Interaction, and Overdose of drug. • Ensure patients’ safety and counsel them about adverse reactions and interactions with other medications, food etc. • Ensuring the “3- Rs” of right drug, right patient and right dose. • Preparing request for medicines and cosmetics to medical store on daily basis, receiving and checking all the supplies against quantity requested, participated in annual inventories. (Oracle Based)

• Accurately dispensing drugs to Outpatients and In-Patients (Unit Dose System) and prepare Patient Drug Profile of In-Patients. • Monitor the performance of staff in the department through the appraisal system. • Ensure the provision of safe and effective medicines, in a timely manner. • Participate in the preparation of the Annual Drug Requirements of the hospital and annual drug inventory of the Pharmacy. • Assume the responsibilities of Medical Store Director in his absence. • Prepare and submit quarterly, semi-annual, annual inventory reports, and manage the distribution of drugs, disposables and other pharmaceuticals to hospitals and Primary Health Care Clinics.
