About Aurélie Hauchère Vuong

Passionate about human rights and social justice, I have been working on the issue of forced labour, trafficking in persons, modern slavery since 2003. At that time, I contributed to collect the data used by the ILO to built the first ever global estimate on Forced Labour. Since then, I have continued working on the forced labour, backstopping technical cooperation projects, contributing to major publications , designing training tools and courses. I enjoy training people to identify and address forced labour, be it labour inspectors, trade unionists, police officers, magistrates or journalists from France, Peru, Sri Lanka and other parts of the world. Since 2014, I have been coordinating the 50 for Freedom campaign to raise awareness on forced labour and promote the ratification of the ILO Forced Labour Protocol (www.50forfreedom.org), for which I received ILO Innovation Team Award in 2019.I was selected to be part of the EMERGE programme for emerging women leaders in the UN.
