Back to how I started - 20 yrs ago, an ex-colleague roped me in to help out an annual adventure camp for children with chronic illnesses, and that begun my volunteering journey from then on. Fast forward to present - I now lead the volunteer management team in Children's Cancer Foundation (CCF), a social service agency with the mission to improve the quality of life of children & youth impacted by cancer through enhancing their emotional, social and medical well-being.Since 1992, CCF has journeyed with >3,700 children and their families to provide that much needed support at different stages of the illness and recovery. We do so by offering a spectrum of holistic and critical services at every touch point of a child’s life – from the time of diagnosis to treatment in the hospitals and returning to normalised living, be it at school or at home.
