No matter what content you need - whether it’s writing for web/social media, crafting a resume that will land you your dream job, or drafting a script/book – storytelling is the fundamental difference maker used to reach your audience!I have used storytelling during my career in a variety of ways with successful results. First in crafting engaging, career-focused, content that resonates with learners on a human level. This content utilized video interviews, e-learning modules created in Storyline 360, PowerPoint presentations, and physical Workbooks to stimulate learners from employees to team leaders and executives. I’ve also used it to design personalized, professional resumes that tell the story of others’ careers across all sectors. Like the hero’s journey in our favourite books and movies, everybody faces unique challenges at their jobs that they have to overcome. Results matter but the journey of how you got those results from facing unique (or universal) challenges matters even more. Storytelling helped me connect with my young students in China learning English. Over the course of a year, we bonded virtually over the difficulties of the pandemic, shared childhood experiences, superhero movies, and silly things our pets do all the while learning new words, pronunciation, and conversation skills.During my time as a student at the University of Toronto, I studied both Cinema Studies and English Literature to master my understanding and analysis of story across all media. I was one of a handful of students selected to be a part of the 2018-2019 cohort to learn screenwriting from a working industry professional culminating in a fully finished feature film script. That script has since been refined and was nominated as an official Selection at the 2021 New York City International Screenplay Awards. Further showcasing my passion, I was an executive for 3 years at the University’s only filmmaking club Raindance on Campus in which we held workshops for beginners to learn how to create their own films all while gearing them up for our massive end-of-year student film festival and competition screened at Innis Town Hall.In my spare time I enjoy reading classic novels, analyzing old and foreign films with friends, and writing fiction. When I can, I volunteer for artistic organizations with causes and values that I believe in. I love creating content that can be the most engaging and resonant that it can possibly be as well as help people improve theirs. I firmly believe that stories can bring us all together!
