I am a mathematical modeller interested in ecology and environmental stewardship, with experience assimilating oceanographic data into computational models to research population dynamics and wildlife responses to harvesting and environmental change. I completed my PhD at the University of Strathclyde. This involved statistical analyses and modelling of west of Scotland and North Sea fishery data and the development of a Bayesian fish stock assessment model, and publication of several peer reviewed scientific papers. Since then I have contributed to four oceanographic research projects: the Marine Ecosystems Research Programme; the Changing Arctic Ocean projects DIAPOD and microARC; and most recently the CUPIDO project. I relocated to the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton to work on microARC. Currently I am employed by British Antarctic Survey, based in Cambridge, providing modelling expertise for research of the impacts of marine microplastic pollution upon zooplankton and carbon cycling.
