The company operaters channels in the UK, Asia and Eurasia and formerly North America.My duties include:• 1st Line technical support outside of office hours. • Liaising with the TV channel personnel on the resolution of transmission issues. • Manning the Master Control Room (MCR).• Advance tuning of satellite decoders with the correct parameters. • Quality control of incoming media (fiber, satellite and FTP) and broadcast monitoring of outgoing channels (7 full time channels, 2 PPV channels and 8 occasional use lines).• Carrying out File Transfers and Video File Transcoding.• Liaising with 3rd party facilities around the world.• Fault finding and troubleshooting of technical equipment and investigating mistakes.• Installation and testing of new equipment and systems and performing daily equipment checks in Central Apparatus Room (CAR). • Providing technical support to 4 off-tube commentary booths.• Audio Mixing of off-tube commentary for use on our channels, for use by a client on the internet and for use by a national radio station.• Supervising existing transmission staff and training of new staff.• Organizing staff rosters and arranging cover for staff on sick or annual leave. • Standing-in as Transmission Operator on unattended channels when necessary.
