I am a Colorado State University Graduate with my Bachelors in Horticulture and concentration in Controlled Environment Horticulture. I am passionate about indoor crop production and greenhouse management. I enjoy learning of new advances in horticultural technologies and would like to be part of the team that helps make the world of indoor crop production more attainable, sustainable, and profitable.My greatest experience was my time interning at the Denver Rescue Missions Harvest Farm. I was asked by the internship coordinator for the farm to assess the on-site greenhouse and make sure it could produce a reliable source of fresh vegetables for the mission's attendees. The inside of the greenhouse was in shambles when I started in August; my work in the 3 months there ensured it produced its first reliable crops by December. Along the way I cured an immense pest infestation without the use of pesticides, cleared a path for reliable crop production, and started some of the crops the attendees would be eating in the months to come. I had noticed a high turnover in a short period for the attendees taking place in work rehabilitation program (working on the farm until they find jobs of their own). I developed a guide to leave behind so when I finished my internship, those working in the greenhouse as their chosen work rehab location could understand the basics of caring for the greenhouse and its crops. Overall, I had an amazing time putting my knowledge to the test while helping others better themselves and ensuring the farm a year round supply of fresh vegetables.
