As a graduate research assistant for West Virginia Universities Prevention Research Center my main duties were enveloped by two main focus points: data management and project coordination. Within the data management focus, I ensured data was inputted by county LEA’s into REDCap in a timely manner, and then I transcribed the data from REDCap into excel. The excel file was used to present all data through a Tableau dashboard, and I used the excel file to generate monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports. I also worked to develop a manuscript analyzing the presence of therapy dogs on Tier1/Tier 2/Tier 3 advancement within the participating k-12 schools, and the therapy dogs impact on attendance, disciplinary actions, and other key data points. For project coordination, I helped organize conferences, ensured project deadlines were met, and assisted in applicant searches. I also synthesized feedback from conferences, and distributed the feedback amongst AWARE team members. I also developed a map utilizing ARCGis illustrating drive-time from relevant schools to SAMSHA approved mental health clinics.

In my tenure as a Regular Fellow at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, I assisted in evaluating effectiveness of dental evacuation systems, by utilizing size selective samplers to evaluate respirable (PM4 ) and thoracic (PM10 ) aerosol concentrations. I also utilized particle sizing instruments to measure particle size distribution and particle number concentrations during the dental procedures. The data gathered will contribute towards the understanding of engineering controls used to mitigate aerosol exposures in dental clinic settings. I also assisted on a systematic literature review of exposure assessments in dental settings. This focused on both infectious and non-infectious respiratory hazards in dental settings. This information was then gathered and applied towards the development of a work history questionnaire for dental personnel that will be utilized for planned future epidemiologic studies of dental personnel.

This drill focused on rescuing stranded individuals on West Virginia Universities Personal Rapid Transportation System and response to an active shooter.
