Imagine having a great idea, the gumption to start a business, and then not having to worry if you paid the internet bill while you focus on growing your company. Throw in a global network, snacks and coffee to keep the ideas flowing, and a vibrant community with resources and connections to get you to the next stage. That's the Innovation Center I'm helping to create alongside a team of amazing folks in Providence, RI.

I engaged US Department of Labor YouthBuild grantees across the country in telling their program's story through accurate and meaningful data reporting. I supported their work with young people through in-person group trainings, personalized virtual trainings, recorded webinars, and ad-hoc "everything's broken and I don't know what to do!" technical assistance interactions. I also analyzed program data to find trends, flag areas for technical assistance, and support program quality and staff effectiveness.

I served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member working on resource development, sustainability, and program support.

• Integrated non-formal education techniques and IT resources in adult literacy education, including the development of a Digital Literacy program for adults who graduated from basic literacy courses• Set up three rural community computer labs and networks, and trained lab managers• Taught advanced computer classes, video editing, computer repair, and networking• Planned and implemented community health and multimedia youth groups• Coordinated advanced English workshops at a local High School• English/Spanish medical interpreting through Peace Corps Dominican Republic Medical Missions initiative• Cholera prevention and treatment training and workshops

• Managed 55 student lab assistant staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling• Day-to-day operation of 7 University computer labs and 42 printing locations• Provided customer service and support for campus lab patrons• Created help and training documents, including videos and other media• Designed graphical entry point for the University’s software virtualization website• Assisted faculty, staff, and students in migration to virtualized software
