• Involved in organising the initial setup, including sourcing a water supply, a viable route to the site for the drilling equipment and communicating with the landowner. As well as other logistical requirements such as MOT of the company pickup and facilitating waste collection.• Acting rig geologist: communicating with drillers to ensure the quality of core is satisfactory and logging working hours for comparison with the invoice received from the drilling company. On site geotech measurements (recovery, RQD, fracture intensity) taken alongside marking orientation (bottom of hole via ACT III) and meter marks. Downhole surveys supervised (using EZ-Track, Sprint-IQ and EZ-Gamma by IMDEX).• Geological logging and sampling: core prepared (cleaned and photographed) then logged. During logging structures to be measured (using an IQ Logger by IMDEX) and sample intervals are marked. Samples are cut using an Almonte Core Saw.• Sample ticketing and dispatch: core samples are ticketed and boxed, with QAQC samples inserted (CRM, field blanks, aliquot duplicates) along with correct paperwork for ALS and courier• Communication: facilitating site visits along with a PR consultant and the creation of an informative flyer given to the local community. Liaising with wastewater and skip hire companies to facilitate the collection of waste material. Progress of program communicated with senior geologist for report to parent company (Walkabout Resources LTD.). Attended community engagement meetings.• HSE: following HSE standards when on drill site and using equipment such as core saws• Producing figures and summarising the exploration program for use in an industry technical report
