Key objectives include:- Effective Project Management: Oversee projects from initiation to completion, managing project managers and teams, monitoring timelines, and ensuring deliverables meet quality standards. - Resource Allocation: Efficiently allocate resources to ensure seamless project execution. - Customer Relationship Management: Foster strong relationships with customers, ensuring effective communication, understanding their needs, and addressing any concerns. - Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle. Proactively address potential issues to prevent delays or compromise quality. - Quality Assurance: Uphold high standards by ensuring that project deliverables meet quality benchmarks. Regularly assess and improve processes to enhance overall project quality. - Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly track project progress, analyze performance metrics, and provide transparent reporting to stakeholders. Address any deviations promptly. - Process Improvement: Continuously seek ways to enhance project delivery processes. Implement best practices, streamline workflows, and drive efficiency.

Responsibilities include:- Managing all activities within the defined Sector, including profit and loss responsibility for all projects delivered within the Sector.- Developing and implementing the commercial action plan for sustained growth and generating all new business opportunities within the Sector.- Ensuring the successful execution of all contracts within the Sector with necessary risk management controls in place.- Overseeing the Contracts Engineers operating within the Sector in their sales activities, project execution and management of their contracts.- Bid management, reviewing tender submissions and validating offers prior to submission to the customer.- Supporting the SHEQ Manager in investigating any incidents, plus consistently promoting and influencing the application of all SHEQ related policies and procedures within the Sector.

Due to open in September 2016, the University Technical College (UTC) Warrington will be a modern educational facility focused on delivering a Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) based curriculum for 14-19 year olds. UTC Warrington is a unique collaboration between teachers, parents, Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and local employers. Newly built college will offer state of the art workshop and laboratory spaces fitted with specialist equipment. Utilising these facilities, students will be able to put their classroom learning into practice before experiencing it first hand out in industry. Created as a result of the Warrington Skills Commission conducted in 2013, the college aims to educate and deliver the next generation of skilled and suitably qualified young people to work in the Energy and Engineering sector.Responsibilities include:- Liaising with key project stakeholders, such as local employers, the Department for Education, MMU, the Education Funding Agency and Baker Dearing Trust.- Developing and implementing the marketing strategy required to recruit the student numbers needed in the pre-opening phase of the college.- Ensuring employer engagement in providing work placements, master classes, project based technical challenges, industry site visits, plus apprenticeship and employment opportunities.- Developing the STEM based curriculum to meet the requirements of local employers and deliver young engineers with the right skills and qualifications to succeed in their future careers.- Identifying and recruiting senior members of staff within the UTC Warrington management team.- Advising on specialist equipment and ICT infrastructure to deliver an outstanding vocational and academic education.
