As an undergraduate researcher in the Melaram Lab, I'm conducting a systematic review on prenatal PM2.5 exposure and DNA methylation. I also manage all team meeting scheduling, organization, and team email chain communications. My responsibilities include:- Designing PROSPERO protocol to lead systematic review, screening all returned articles from Science Direct & PubMed and running bioinformatics analyses on identified CpG sites in R studio, to synthesize the relationship between prenatal pollution exposure & epigenetic changes.- Spear-heading application for grant funding, carrying out the review, and leading manuscript writing.- Managing all team meeting scheduling & data sharing across the team.- Integrating AI technologies effectively to improve the efficiency of our team along the way.This role is enhancing my skills in systematic review methodology, epigenetics, and environmental health research. It's providing valuable experience in academic research and deepening our understanding of early-life environmental exposures and long-term health outcomes.
