Responsible for budget and finance for the entire organization (approx. $3.5 million). In 2019, we outperformed our projections by 5%. ~Drove annual planning and priorities, weekly financial reporting, and quarterly reporting to the board of directors. ~Coached department directors on key strategic and tactical adjustments throughout the year, including program changes, partnership decisions, marketing and sale strategies, etc. Worked closely with the Executive Director to manage a staff of 80+, operations, fundraising, and organizational strategy. Regularly executed on high visibility, high stakes projects, for example: ~Led the launch of the Field of Dreams benefit concert, a project spanning 9 months, raising over $150k (15% of our annual goal) in donations, and featuring world renowned guitarist Stanley Jordan and Spanish rock artist Ramon Mirabet. ~In 2020, during the pandemic, led the rapid transition to remote and social-distanced programming for 500+ weekly participants. This included adoption of new platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc), training our teams to use them effectively, and modification of curriculums to accommodate our new limitations, all in a matter of a week or two.

As advisor to the ED, I launched several new programs that brought in new direct revenues of over $150k per year, as well as increasing enrollment in other programs, as 10% of the new students signed up for existing programs in addition to our new offerings.~Designed and implemented programming for all grade levels of a K-8 private school, providing music, photography, video production, and nature on a weekly basis, by working closely with the school’s leadership, assessing their programmatic needs, designing curriculum, hiring and training staff where needed, and regularly gathering feedback and iterating on the program.

Designed, led, and managed an elite international music experience for high school students with professional aspirations, increasing revenues for the center by $100k per year, and helping over a dozen students get accepted to top 10 music colleges.

Grew Creative Arts by 500%, from fewer than 50 to over 300 participants per year. ~Designed a program model that allowed us to offer private lessons and classes at a lower price than the competition while delivering excellent performance outcomes.~I modeled our values of caring deeply about each individual’s goals and specific needs and trained all of our instructors to do the same. We launched the new offerings with a handful of students at first and our results were so excellent that the program grew rapidly through word of mouth. ~As we grew, I led hiring, training, and management of a team of 7-12 direct reports, and oversaw budget, strategy, marketing, monthly concerts, program design, reporting, and operations.Created and executed an arts program in collaboration with 2 local charter high schools, providing accredited arts education to over 100 students per year.~Worked with the school’s leadership to assess their program needs within our organization’s capacity to deliver. ~Led the creation and approval of a UC accredited high school curriculum in instrumental music, hip hop and rap performance, video production, and photography.~Hired, trained, and managed the team that delivered the program each school year. Our program was consistently the highest rated offering in the school and we inspired dozens of students every year to pursue the arts in college and beyond.
