Chief Financial OfficerMosaic Christian Church Jun 2020 - PresentThe vision of Mosaic Christian Church is to be a church for people who don't go to church. My role as CFO functions to steward the resources we have to advance that mission forward. One way I do that is by managing our $4 million budget. I work with leadership and staff to project giving for the year, figure out strategy for the year, and budget spending to accomplish those goals. I then track that budget throughout the year and keep our staff on track with spending along with communicating with leadership on ways we can improve and shifts we can make as the year progresses.Another way I execute my role is through donor relations. I systematically touch base with our givers to care for them personally in the ways we can while also communicating the ways their generosity makes an impact.Ultimately, I do these things and more to steward the resources others generously give to us in order to advance our mission of being a church for people who don't go to church. -

Preceptorial Cabinet MemberTaylor University May 2018 - Dec 2018Upland, In, UsLed a team of 8 student leaders (AKA Preceptors) to develop their skills in leading groups of incoming students during a semester class. These Preceptors met with me as a group once a week and individually twice throughout the semester. The group meetings consisted of discussing how each group was progressing and sharing ideas on how to approach leading their groups. I learned different ways to motivate the Preceptors to continue to grow as leaders. Individual meetings were similar to group meetings, however, we would talk more in-depth about things they were struggling with in their small groups. On top of that, my role was similar to that of a TA. I graded the incoming students' assignments and assisted in their adjustment to Taylor University. This included communicating to students how they could improve on their assignments, communicating what they were doing well, and finding ways to help students struggling to adjust.I developed my ability to lead my peers throughout the course of this job and enjoyed doing so. Also, I appreciated their feedback throughout the semester in order for me to lead them better over time. -

Financial Representative InternNorthwestern Mutual May 2018 - Aug 2018Milwaukee, Wi, UsMy main job as an intern was to build my own clientele as a financial representative. This included calling people I was connected to and meeting with them to discuss how I could help them in financial planning. Initial meetings consisted of discovering where they were at financially and what their goals were financially, as well as personally. From there, with guidance from mentors, I would develop financial plans for potential clients and meet with them to discuss recommendations. After that, it would be up to them whether or not to pursue any recommendations made. By the end of the summer, I had about 10 clients which put me in the top 15% of interns in the country.I enjoyed meeting with potential clients and getting to know how we could accommodate them. This enabled me to get hands on experience in the financial services industry by doing research on the different products we offered and understanding what to recommend in different situations.
